Teaching ministry · My teaching system
Interactive books that carry each series beyond Sunday.
A sermon reaches people for one Sunday. I build each teaching series so it keeps working all week, in every home, for every age, and long after the series ends.

It starts on Sunday
The listening guide
Every message has an interactive listening guide in our church app. People follow the outline as I preach, read the key verses, and type their own notes right into the guide. Afterward, the same guide gives them the full passages in two translations, a Scripture chart, response questions and a City Group discussion.
These guides, together with the sermon transcripts, are what become the chapters of each book.

It reaches every age
Kids in the worship service
We encourage families to use our children's ministry, and kids are also warmly welcome in the worship service. More families are choosing that, so every week I write a kids listening guide that follows the same message at their level.
Each child gets a clipboard with the guide, a six-color pen, and a small toy or fidget that ties to the theme. The guide retells the Bible story in pictures, asks simple questions, and ends with one way to live it out this week, and the back is a coloring page for younger kids. Families leave having heard the same message, ready to talk about it at the dinner table.
I believe worship is caught as well as taught. When kids worship alongside adults, they see what faith looks like, grow in it themselves, and are prepared for what's next. As a dad, and now a grandfather, I'm more passionate than ever about making sure kids feel at home in the service.
To make room for them, we created a dedicated family section in the sanctuary, with tables where kids can fill out their guides and take notes during the message.
At the end of a series, a recap sheet reviews every week, with puzzles for older kids and a coloring page for the youngest.

It continues in City Groups
The City Group guide
Each week our small groups, called City Groups, meet around the same passage. Everyone gets a discussion guide on their phone or tablet, with the Scripture printed beside every question in two translations, so no one needs a separate Bible.
The leader edition adds a 60-minute plan, background on the passage, and help for every question: what the text says, what to listen for, where to be careful, and a follow-up question, with links to check every explanation.
Sample leader guide: Week 7 of See You on the Other Side, “Leaving the Light On.” Each one is a PDF.
It carries into the week
The midweek recap email
Research on memory shows we forget most of what we hear within days unless we review it. So every week, a midweek email takes the church back to Sunday's message in a five-minute read: the stories, the main points, the key Scriptures, and the next step.
Every Scripture links to the passage. The full sermon video is one tap away, with time stamps to jump to key moments, and the listening guide and kids guide are linked at the bottom, so the whole week's resources live in one place.
Sample: the series finale recap, sent after “Now That I'm Here.”
The e-book is the hub
When a series ends, I write it into an interactive book, carefully editing every message from spoken sermon into clear, readable chapters. Every chapter links to its sermon video, and every resource from the series is connected to it. The same sermons are also on YouTube.
How it comes together
From Sunday to a lasting resource
Preach the series
Each week brings a message and an interactive listening guide in the church app, plus City Group discussion and leader guides, a kids' listening guide, and a midweek recap email, all built around one big question.
Write the book
The listening guides and sermon transcripts become the chapters. I keep the stories that make each point land, and add art, Scripture and reflection questions.
Release every edition
Book and Study Book for phone, iPad and computer, plus Kindle and Apple Books. Each edition has hundreds of tap-to-jump links.
Keep it connected
Chapters link to their videos, the Road Map and deeper study guides, so a reader can go from a page to the sermon in one tap.
Inside one series

Why it matters for a church
The whole church learns together
Adults, small groups and kids work through the same truths in the same week, so conversations carry from the pew to the dinner table.
Sunday keeps working
A series becomes a resource people reread, share with a friend or work through with a group months later.
An easy first step for guests
A free, well-made book is something a member can hand a neighbor. It invites people in without pressure.
Discipleship, not just content
Reflection questions, notes space and group guides move people from hearing to doing.
Built to repeat
The system is a repeatable process, so every new series adds another book. A new book at the end of every series.
Meets people where they read
Phone, tablet, computer, Kindle or print, with each edition designed for its screen.
